Tempus Impromptu
A modular triptych where past, present and imagined futures occupy the same emotional field. Built on a harmonic armature, each panel is complete alone and transformed by connection.
A non-linear architecture of time
Tempus Impromptu brings three interconnected drawings into a single visual system. Past, present and imagined futures are not treated as a straight sequence; they occupy the same emotional field and are connected by recurring architecture, figures, symbols and paths.
Each panel can function independently, yet its meaning changes when placed beside the others. The edges behave as thresholds, allowing the physical drawings to become parts of a larger system.
Composition and process
The work is structured through a harmonic armature and developed by hand through a balance of planning and intuitive accumulation. Across the panels, recurring forms create transitions between different emotional registers while preserving the logic of a continuous world.
The project began in March 2023 and developed through physical drawing before its 2024 MakersPlace launch. Animation, augmented reality and immersive presentation were introduced as continuations of the original drawings rather than replacements for them.
Evolution of the work
The triptych is the source from which later digital and spatial states developed.
Impromptu #1
First panel and genesis of the puzzle system.
Impromptu #2
The second work in the sequence; historically associated with EXA Market and NFC Lisbon 2023.
Fragmented Realities
The third work in the Tempus Impromptu sequence.
Tempus Redux
The first AR derivative of the triptych.
Tempus Revenant
The larger nine-work fusion.
